Overview

Body lift evaluates skin sagging, which is not limited to a single area, together with neighboring areas of the body. In lower body lifting, the excess stretching from the front of the abdomen to the sides of the waist and back, as well as the hip and outer thigh transition, can be part of the same plan. Which areas will be addressed in the same session depends on the person's anatomy, general health and the scope of the surgery. Circumferential correction may require more extensive scars and postoperative care. This surgery is not a fat loss method; It focuses on reducing excess skin. Weight balance, nutrition and home help support are as important parts of the planning as the outcome.

What is evaluated?

  • The distribution of excess skin around the body is examined while standing.
  • Weight balance, nutritional status and nicotine use are evaluated.
  • Total surgical burden, clot risk and home support options are discussed.

Approach and options

  • A lower body lift can address the abdomen, waist and hip area together.
  • A regional lift can limit the extent by focusing on the area where the complaint predominates.
  • Extensive corrections may be divided into separate surgeries based on safety and recovery needs.

Recovery and follow-up

Care needs to be planned in advance as there may be multiple incision areas and drains. Personal recommendations are given for sitting, lying and walking. As the swelling decreases, the body line becomes clear; Different areas may not heal at the same rate. If sudden shortness of breath or chest pain develops, immediate medical evaluation is required.

Risks and limits

  • Wound opening or skin loss in large incision areas
  • Seroma, bleeding and infection
  • Obvious scars and remaining contour irregularities
  • Deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism

The headings here do not cover all risks. Possible benefits, alternatives and personal risks should be discussed in detail during the examination.

You can ask in the consultation

  • Does my skin sagging require a circumferential body lift?
  • What are the advantages of carrying out the procedures in stages?
  • How much help should I plan for drain care and daily care?
