Forehead and Brow Lift

Forehead and brow lift addresses the position of the eyebrows and loosening of the forehead tissues; It is planned together with the upper eyelid evaluation.

Overview

Displacement of the eyebrows downward may create the appearance of excess skin on the upper eyelid or increase the existing excess. Forehead and brow lift evaluates brow position along with facial expression, forehead height and hairline. In some methods, small incisions and an endoscope are used on the scalp, while in others, different incision sites are preferred. The goal isn't just to raise the eyebrow; The balance of both sides and natural facial expression are also important. It is also determined whether eyelid surgery is required. It is not expected that every line on the forehead will disappear completely and the quality of the skin affects the result.

What is evaluated?

  • Distinguishing droopy eyebrows from actual upper lid skin excess.
  • Examination of hairline, forehead height, eyebrow asymmetry and facial expressions.
  • Discussing history of dry eyes, previous forehead procedures, and hair loss.

Approach and options

  • In the endoscopic approach, forehead tissues can be arranged through small incisions on the scalp.
  • Depending on the hairline and excess skin, open or close to the hairline incision options may be considered.
  • For independent problems in the eyelid, simultaneous or separate eyelid surgery may be discussed.

Recovery and follow-up

There may be swelling, bruising, numbness or itching around the forehead and eyes. Incision and scalp care vary depending on the technique used. Recommendations for head position, hair washing and physical activity are given individually. The early appearance of the eyebrows may not accurately reflect their final position.

Risks and limits

  • Eyebrow asymmetry or undesirable change of expression.
  • Rising hairline or hair loss around the incision.
  • Change in forehead sensation or nerve damage affecting eyebrow movement.
  • Dry eyes, wound healing problems or significant scarring.
